Day 130 of the 3-Day War

I'll make five observations of the Ukraine-Russia war, at this point:

1.   Maybe in Russia....half the nation buys into the Nazi aspect of the war....elsewhere?  I'd say it's maybe one person out of every forty that hears this and believes in Nazis loose in the Ukraine (most listen to a pro-Putin news program).

2.  On tank losses....at the beginning...it was thought that Russia had 2,800 active tanks on the 'books'.  Presently with losses....the number suggested 'gone' is around 1,300 (maybe going up to 1,500).  At the pace of things....by late August, I'd suggest the number goes up around 1,700 gone.  Tanks in storage?  There might be 10,000 of the older models just sitting there.

3.  Grocery shelves are still mostly full in Russia....but prices (mostly due to inflation) are worrying some folks.

4.  If you wrote down three things that Putin absolutely did NOT want to happen....one of them  was the enlargement of NATO. By Sweden/Finland joining....that really twisted the Russians around into a severe bind.

5.  In the last day or two....the EU said that it was now importing more LNG from the US, than Russia.  However, what they are saying is the Russia amount has really gone to a vastly low number.

Odds of the war ending in 2022?  Less than a 1-percent chance.
