Road Blockages and the 'Kids'

I noticed off Focus today....more chatter about the road blockages around Berlin by the environmental group 'Last Generation'.

Authorities have apparently decided to dump a fee upon the teenagers detained by the police....a sum of 241 Euro each....per arrest.

Police also hint that they are reviewing regulations....if they can assess other fees.  My humble guess is that they will develop a fee in the next month for use of glue (to dissolve the kid from the pavement), and probably a special fee for blocking autobahn lanes.

But here's the thing, as the police will discover....there's a foundation or two behind the 'Last Generation' teenagers, and as you assess a fine.....the foundation will step up....slip the kid 241 Euro, and just continue on.

In simple terms, you need to probably crank up the fines (multiple ones) and start handing the 15-year-old kid a 6,000 Euro fine instead.  In that case, the foundation will drain itself fairly quick.  I'd also suggest Saturday detention for some landscaping work, and probably start asking the parents if they can maintain control or order of the kid....if they can't, then it's time to remove the kid from the home.

The bulk of Germans (probably 99-percent) have not had to mess with the road blockades, and still have no opinion much over the act.
