I sat and read through a Focus discussion-article....over Covid and the German government.
The German gov't and the Robert Koch Institute went and appoint a group of experts to openly 'grade' how things went for the past two years. Grade? Well...most everything they said....went to a lack of data....so in simple terms....they could not do their job because there's no way to measure the effective nature of regulation.
I tend ot respect the Robt Koch Institute people....they don't BS around or just make up bogus stories. But they are grounded to this thing called factual data, and to be honest.....it's just a limited amount of knowledge developed since spring of 2020.
The closure of schools? Mostly a blank sheet on success or failure.
2G/3G efforts (since fall of 2021)? Another blank sheet.
They did agree on mask usage.....but then they said this funny thing....if they don't fit snuggly, they aren't effective. I've bought several brands of masks since spring of 2020, and would readily agree that one-third of the brands were 'crap'. On containing moisture and creating breathing difficultly? The crew can't say much, but I'd remark that you might develop serious breathing issues if you wore a mask for eight hours straight.
I hate to suggest it....but you could have brought 2nd year medical students in to evaluate the Covid measures, and their analysis would have gone the same way....a lot of nothing.
Helping to shape future policy? No....a big zero there.
So the odds of another review in the future? I'd probably suggest that the government will skip 2023, and hope that people forget about this report rather quickly.
