Berlin 'Dry-Zone'?

Not to get any Berlin residents excited or hyped up, but the city 'senate' voted up and agreed.....restrictions will occur now.

ALL pubs, kiosks, bars, supermarkets, restaurants....will be closed at 11 PM each night.  No more partying or boozing.....at 11.

All due to the Covid-19 virus.

It appears that only gas stations and drug-shops got the waiver on this.  They did note....if you were a gas station....selling beer or booze is now forbidden at 11.

How long will this go for?  No one has said a clear answer on this.  I would imagine it's probably up for 90 days and will be reviewed again at that point.

Effect?  Well....here's the thing, drug-dealers are still out there at 11 PM, so you could weed-up or buy some decent drugs to make up for the lack of booze.  I would speculate that various private booze dealers will appear (maybe out of their car or van) and sell booze on the side (illegally of course).

Illegal parties in the forests around Berlin?  There's been social media chatter of various parties taking place over the past two months, and the police have intervened on a couple of occasions.  This might double-up now with the 'dry' strategy in place.

Factual data to support the 'dry' strategy?  This mostly revolves around video shot in the city of clubs and bars, where it's obvious people are violating the 1.5-meter social distance business.

As for this hurting the economics of Berlin?  It's best not to bring this up.  For a lot of clubs and bars....their major money-maker period was midnight to 4 AM on Saturday and Sunday mornings. So they will tell you that they've been royally screwed once again.
