Local authorities in the Wiesbaden area.....update folks almost on a daily basis with Covid-19 numbers.
Remember....Wiesbaden is a highly urbanized area with around 295,000 residents.
So since day one....the total number of infected folks from within the city is currently at 1,140. Presently on quarantine? 80.
Number of dead from day one? 22. Over the past 90 days, I don't think there's been a single death. Part of this positive is the better handling of older patients with the higher risk rate.
I sat and watched a news piece the other night and they were interviewing a German woman in a rest-home....in her early 80s. She'd gone through Covid-19 back in May timeframe, and survived it. Fitness angle? Well....I think part of her survival went to the fact that she didn't have any secondary issues....was 'lean' and seemed to be in outstanding physical shape for her age.
Districts of the Hessen state differing on rates of infection? This is part of the story as well. If you look around Wiesbaden, Frankfurt and Darmstadt....higher rates of infection are reported. If you look around rural districts in the NE area of Hessen.....it's incredibly low on infections. There's one district which has one-tenth the rate of the Wiesbaden area.
