German N-TV (commercial news) reported a curious Covid-19 story today.
Some Australian Covid-researchers had gone out to study how long Covid can stay 'alive' on currency bills and surfaces.
Roughly four weeks....that Covid can survive.
Will this worry the Bundestag crowd a bit? I'm guessing it'll trigger some German studies and they will admit shortly that there's a whole new area that we need to worry about.
Then we'll have some Bavarian inventor who has a steam cleaner-sanitizer to sell you for Euro bills....which we discover later.....destroys the bills after the fifth steam-cleaning.
As for the surfaces worry? It just doubles up the worry-factor on buses, trains, or public bathrooms.

As a token Aussie living in Germany I can tell you that Australian money has a completely different composition (more like plastic) than euros, so I wouldn't extrapolate too much.
