There's a piece over at RBB (Berlin public TV) that I'd recommend as a read today. The topic? It was an interview of a wedding dress shop owner, and financial ruin over Covid-19.
She'd run the shop over in Nauen (a smaller town, about 30 minutes driving west of Berlin). For five years, it ran a decent business. The past nine months? Marginal.
No one spends big money on an expensive wedding dress, in the Corona period.
With the latest trend in business....she gave up on the store entirely, and tried to run it as a on-line shop. That's mostly failed as well though.
It's a good read of how small business operations are failing in Germany.
