HR did a report this afternoon....basically saying now among all cities in Germany....Wiesbaden ranks as number one on personal debt status.
The number? One out of every six local residents in Wiesbaden....can't pay their bills.
Reasons? I suspect it goes to various problems (housing cost, life styles, willing nature to spend heavy on luxury items, etc).
A problem? Well....you can't really define this issue. You do have two or three areas of town which are far in excess of capital and wealth....with another two or three neighborhoods which are defined as absolute welfare-status. The other twenty-five neighborhoods are mostly in the middle. This didn't happen overnight....it's probably been brewing for over fifty years.
