Germany and Covid-19: 2 Nov 2020

 1.  According to stat's from last night: new infections for the past 24 hours, 12,693.  Total deaths since day one? 10,481.  People currently on quarantine: 172,016.

2.  Lot of chatter from the public forum 'Anne Will' from last night via ARD (Channel One, public TV).  The two things you could take home from the discussion group?  First, these tough new ban rules which start today.....strong hint that most of them will exist into December.  No one says which ones, but it begs questions. Second, there was a fairly brutal warning given that the effects of the virus might be around way past the vaccination point, and still exist to threaten society for the foreseeable future.

As much as these public forum shows have dispensed decent information since the very beginning....I think some aspects of viewing are not that helpful now.

3.  Public alcohol consumption?  Virtually zeroed out by the ban regulations.  You can drink on your patio or within your home.  Taking a six-pack over to a public park and drinking one with your buddy?  It's likely to get police attention.  That's one of the little funny ban rules for November.

There's no problem buying beer or booze (gas stations, grocery stations, beverage shops).  I would imagine that you could do a food-pick-up at your local pizza shop and get a bottle or two of beer there.  But public drinking isn't going to be possible.
