So today....out of Hamburg....an odd court activity occurred.
About three years ago...the German federal folks pushed Facebook into a corner and established some regulations that meant 'bad-boys' on social media (Facebook in the middle of this) would have their accounts deleted and the free world would be saved by this 'control'.
Well....the Hamburg regional court stood up and said today....'no', you are infringing upon rightful speech. The thing that started this...feds alerted Facebook, and they reacted to a particular person commenting....saying it was 'hate-speech'.
Facebook reacted, as you'd expect.
The court says no...Facebook crossed a line, but in some way....the federal involvement will be dragged up. I suspect some move to the Constitutional Court next, and they will be asking the government where they got this power, and who will be the one to identify hate-speech.
All of this falling into Twitter's view too? Probably.
